Jose Martinez

Jose Martinez brings a wealth of experience in litigating complex commercial disputes, combined with a strong background in corporate transactional law. His approach focuses on providing innovative and cost-effective legal solutions tailored to the needs of his clients.

Jose began his legal career as an associate at a national insurance defense firm, where he specialized in insurance coverage, general liability defense, and labor and employment defense. Eventually, he transitioned away from the insurance sector, shifting his focus to construction law and commercial litigation at a boutique firm in Coral Gables, Florida.

A lifelong Miami native, Jose attended Coral Gables Senior High School before earning his undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology, magna cum laude, from Florida International University. Before pursuing law, he spent two years as a freelance music journalist in Miami, refining his skills as a writer and advocate. This experience ultimately inspired him to help entrepreneurs navigate the legal complexities of running a business.

Determined to merge his passion for advocacy with business law, Jose attended Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2017. He furthered his expertise by obtaining an LLM in Law and Entrepreneurship from Duke University School of Law in 2018. His specialized training allows him to guide startups through legal hurdles and help businesses scale effectively.

Jose is well-versed in both the transactional and litigation aspects of business law. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys spending time with his family and his mini–Australian Shepherd, Truffle. He is also passionate about karaoke, collecting vinyl records, antique military firearms, computing, and tennis.
