Super Lawyers & Rising Star Candidates are Nominated Only Once Each Year

Each year, attorneys across the country are invited to nominate their peers — whom they have personally observed in action — for both the Super Lawyers and Rising Star awards.

Once nominated, the attorney-led research staff at Super Lawyers Magazine identifies the credentials of the nominees by reviewing a proprietary list of database and online sources, including national and local legal trade publications.

The nominees are also evaluated on their verdicts and/or settlements, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, positions within their law firms, professional activity, pro bono and community service, education, and employment background among other important criteria.

Each nominated attorney is awarded points for each qualifying piece of evaluation criteria by the review committee, and a final selection is made by grouping candidates into four law firm sized categories, of which two of our law firm’s attorneys were selected as a Super Lawyer and Rising Star in Florida.

What is the Difference Between a Super Lawyer and Rising Star Attorney?

The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 25 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.

While up to 5% of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list.

Congratulations to our attorneys, Tom and Francisco!
